"えん歌の申し子" は、幼少の頃より数々のグランプリを手にし、6歳の時にはすでに100本を越えたという。地元のテレビ関係者は「まさに天才少女でしたよ」と絶賛する。天性とも言える艶と張りのある声に、抜群の歌唱力は将来の大器の予感と10年に1人の逸材という期待が加わり、噂が噂を呼んだ。

作曲家 高木東六氏に「末恐ろしい！」と云わしめ、NHKのオーディションを最高得点で合格。故 藤山一郎氏を「日本の演歌の財産だ」と唸らせ、業界の注目を浴び15歳堂々のデビュー。 デビュー作　1986年5月21日「袴をはいた渡り鳥」
