When The Manor first started making music their aim was no more than making each other laugh. They’d while away the hours after school freestyling over beats played out from the tinny speakers of a flip phone, incorporating in jokes and references indecipherable to those outside their circle. “All our songs were written for about 20 people", laughs Scotty Stacks, one third of the south London trio.
