Micatone started at the turn of the millennium as one of the early groups combining a live band with electronic breakbeats and club sounds. In conjunction with the voice of Lisa Bassenge the exceptional mixture of pop, jazz and electronics led to a number of record releases on Jazzanova´s label Sonarkollektiv. Among the fans and supporters of the band were people like French House Dj Bob Sinclar or BBC radio presenter Gilles Peterson.
