About

ボーカルの片桐舞子とトラックメーカーの河井純一が、2002年に専門学校(尚美ミュージックカレッジ)で出会い結成。ふたりの共通点が「5月生まれ」なことから「MAY'S(メイズ)」と命名し在学中に活動をスタート。インディーズでの活動を経て2008年7月2日に1stシングル「My Everything」でメジャーデビュー。

ボーカルの片桐舞子は群馬県出身、片桐会片桐流民謡の家元。両親ともに師範という唄のサラブレッドであり、幼少期より自然と歌うことを覚え、ボーカリストとしての道を歩み始める。 高校時代はロックバンドのギタリストとして活動していた河井純一は、片桐舞子との出会いをきっかけにその才能を開花させ、片桐舞子の歌の魅力を引き出すメロディアスな全楽曲のトラックメイクを手がけている。

作詞・作曲・アレンジを全て自身で手がけており、ライブ演出やアートワークなどを含めマルチな才能を持ち合わせている、クリエイティブユニット。
