A Czech singer based in Iceland, she is married to Icelandic producer Sturla Mio Þórisson. Together, they work and create music at their recording space, Masterkey Studios. Markéta first became known after starring in the independent Irish film Once, for which she co-wrote the music alongside Irish singer-songwriter Glen Hansard.
