Kettel, real name Reimer Eising, born and raised in Friesland and now inhabitant of the city of Groningen in the north of the Netherlands, is a trained classical pianist who has been a key figure in the ambient and electronic music scene that emerged from the early 00's.

Along his path starting with his debute on Planet Mu in 2001 have been several releases on the legendary Rotterdam based Clone label.
